Little Things
These photos are the results experiments using a Canon R 's multiple exposure blend modes that are different to my Olympus' modes. using these I ended up with random colours that were really interesting and I often made different versions of the same image.
Oppidan development
A fancy name for city builds from the latin word OPPIDAMUS meaning belonging to a town. The photos depict living and working in multi level, multi peopled spaces opposed to rural and bucolic. sometimes I wonder what it would be like to live your whole life in a block of "flats" as we used to call them in Australia.Is. Is it a choice or a necessity? We have so much space in Australia it seems puzzling to me. Since the pandemic the hundreds of units built are now empty as people are not buying for investment or to live and still many homeless people live on the streets. Could there be a better way to design cities and do we need such enormous ones or could we have many smaller less intimidating ways of working and living?
Leaves of distinction
These photos were made as part of a workshop with Valda Bailey & Doug Chinnery working on abstract photography. The series is about leaves and the beauty of different shapes and colours.
