PhotoEncaustic was an art-form that I experimented with during the first half of 2019. I took photos of autumn leaves and the bare branches of trees and overlaid them. I then printed them on cotton rag, glued them to a board and covered them in layers of wax. It is a very tactile way of finishing a photo and one that allows you to touch the finished artwork and enjoy the surface with all its wabi sabi impurities.
